We are looking for metabolite sensors for our automated production room
“Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are”
Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin
The famous aphorism also applies at the cellular level, and describes one of the keys to successful biomanufacturing: metabolic profiling is crucial for bioprocess understanding.
The ultimate goal of the AUTOBOT project (funded by the Research Council of Norway) is to develop a production unit for automated antibody manufacturing, which will be able to process hundreds of bioreactors in parallel. We are looking for a biosensor to integrate with the automated unit. The biosensor should be able to quantify one or more key metabolites, such as glucose and glutamine, in cell culture supernatants sampled from the bioreactors. Ideally, the biosensor should be connected to a tubing (e.g., using a flow cell) and analyze the samples while flowing through the tubing.
